Refresh stale content
Old copyright years and dated posts quietly tell visitors the site is neglected.
What it means
Freshness signals include copyright years, publish dates, prices, and references to events. Content that visibly predates the last couple of years suggests the business behind it may be equally stale.
Why it matters
Buyers check dates before trusting advice or prices, and Google favours pages it considers maintained. A refresh of old pages is also far cheaper than writing new ones.
How to fix it
- Update the footer copyright year (make it dynamic so it never goes stale again).
- Review your top pages: fix old prices, screenshots, dates, and dead references.
- Refresh and re-publish your best old posts with updated information — keep the URL, update the date.
- Remove or redirect pages for products you no longer offer.
