Use exactly one H1 heading
The H1 tells Google and visitors what the page is about — there should be one per page.
What it means
The H1 is the main headline of a page. Pages with zero H1s give Google no headline signal; pages with several dilute it.
Why it matters
Search engines weight the H1 heavily to understand page topic. A clear single H1 that matches the page title reinforces what you rank for and improves accessibility at the same time.
How to fix it
- Open the page in your editor and check the heading structure — exactly one <h1>, then <h2>/<h3> for sections.
- Make the H1 similar to the page title but written for humans, not search engines.
- In page builders, the 'Title' block usually renders as H1 — extra styled headings should be changed to H2.
- Remove empty or decorative heading tags left behind by templates.
