Reduce conversion friction
Every extra field, step, and click between desire and action loses people.
What it means
Friction is the effort your signup, checkout, or contact flow demands: number of fields, steps, account requirements, and surprises like unexpected costs.
Why it matters
Industry benchmarks lose roughly a quarter of users at each unnecessary step. High-friction flows silently discard the visitors your content worked so hard to win.
How to fix it
- Count the fields in your main form — remove every one you don't strictly need (phone, company, 'how did you hear about us' go first).
- Allow guest checkout / contact without account creation; ask for account details after the transaction.
- Show all costs early — surprise shipping or fees at the last step is the classic conversion killer.
- Enable browser autofill and show progress indicators on multi-step forms.
- Test the flow on a phone: if it's painful there, it's losing most of your conversions.
